Eyebrow Styling I’m only 14 and I love my eyebrows, they are really full and I would like to keep them that way. The problem is they need some shaping and cleaning up, but the few times I’ve gone to get them waxed they make them too thin. I have to let them grow back out and I’m afraid they won’t grow back one of these times. What can I do? Also I’ve heard of threading what do you think of that? – Marcia Dear Marcia, I hear that quite a bit and it sad-dens me, because you are correct, un-fortunately sometimes the hair does not grow back. My suggestion is make sure you choose a place that specializes in eye -brow styling, it is a specialty and takes a lot of experience to be able to do them correctly! Part of doing them great is listening to what your client wants. So when you are getting your hair or nails done and they ask if you would like to add brow waxing, politely say no thank you, as it may not be their specialty. Also be sure you speak up, don’t be afraid of letting them know you would like to keep them full. Brows are the frame for the eyes and are so important for expression. A proper brow wax includes trimming, waxing and discussing with your client the shape that enhances their features, along with taking into consideration their personality. We would love for you to come in, as eyebrow styling is our spe-cialty for over 27 years now. Professional eyebrow styling does not have to be ex-pensive, it is usually recommended once a month. The cost is approximately $18 for fabulous brows that you will love. As far as threading goes, it has become quite popular, too. The comments our clients say is that waxing is far less painful than threading and much quicker due to our speed waxing. Clients that have sensi-tive skin and have problems waxing else-where, had felt threading was their only option but find the natural wax we use, is gentle enough for them, along with a nutriment oil we put down first to help soothe the skin. One concern I have about threading (other than the pain) is that the hair is pulled out in an unnatural direc-tion and repeated threading causes the hair to grow back in an outwardly facing direction. With waxing the hair grows back in its natural direction when the re-growth comes in and is thinner and softer. Whichever you decide, the key is to have an experienced brow stylist that will keep them full while making them look great! To book your complimentary consulta-tion, call Cathy Isaacs at Cosmetic Concepts 661-259-6117. In our consultation I will also ask you specific questions along with drawing on the brows so you can see the results before we start.
